Approximately 1 mile of new, 10’ wide multi-use path will create a critical connection between the Towpath Trail and Cleveland Metroparks’ Garfield Park Reservation. The path will run within the Garfield Boulevard right-of-way from Warner Road—linking to the Mill Creek Connector Trail and Towpath Trail—to Turney Road, where it will tie into the all-purpose trail at Garfield Park Reservation. A road diet will reduce Garfield Blvd from four lanes to two plus a two-way left-turn lane to minimize right-of-way impacts. The path, sidewalks, and crossings will be upgraded for ADA compliance and to better serve GCRTA bus stops. Landscaping between the path and roadway is being designed as sustainable “green” infrastructure, allowing path runoff to infiltrate into the soil.
